First Day of Ballet

So Lilly has started Ballet with Miss Penny. She has been to two classes and absolutely loves it! Both days the girl would not take a nap. She came out of her room every 15 mins saying it was time to go to Ballet. There are 6 little girls in her class. Her friend Katherine is in the class and she mainly watches her instead of the teacher. Her favorite thing to do is run around the room with a scarf the teacher lets them pick out. She got a zebra print scarf the first time.

One thing I was not prepared for was how much I would love watching her in her class. It brings back so many memories of dancing when I was a little girl. We are going to enjoy our time of dance each week.

There probably isn't anyone who checks this blog anymore. I haven't posted in 3 months. We have been busy girls.

I am busy running after "Both" of my little sweeties. Sophia started walking on Christmas Day and has not slowed down. She is into everything. She also likes to run away from us when she has something in her mouth she knows she shouldn't or she has something she knows she shouldn't.

Here are a couple of

pictures of the past few months. As I am posting this I realize I did not get a picture of the girls in their cute Christmas Dresses or even one where either of them look like I brushed their hair! Oh, well.

The girls are starting to play together, at times. Lilly doesn't want Sophia in her things or touching her babies, but she does allow her to come into her room for a short amount of time or if Mom makes her! I look forward to when they play together and have lots of fun.

Sophia is just as friendly as Lilly, which I really didn't think that could happen. I love how my girls just love people. They light up when we are out and about. Sophia likes to say "HI" to people that pass us by. She only says a few words, but she is so sweet.

I love this picture of Lilly. Her hair is so crazy and this is what I deal with all the time. We can not get the static out of it in the winter and no matter how many bows, braids or pony tails we try it ends up looking like this! I know Lilly is going to look back and wonder if I even bathed my children.

I just ran a 5K!

Okay many of you probably laughed when you read my title if you have known me for very long. I have never been known for my athletic ability, okay what am I kidding, no one on this green earth has actually seen me in action besides getting up and down out of a chair. Well, there was that time in High School that I actually decided to be on a Kids Inc. Basketball team as a Junior in High School. I am pretty sure I feel down in the middle of the court and no one was even around me. I also didn't even have a ball in my hand. That's the kind of athletic ability I am talking about.

But.....I have emerged a new woman in 2010.

I have been working out since June and it has been a lot of fun. We do a little running and I decided to run in our communities downtown 5K. My goal was to just finish without stopping. I ran it in 30 min's. I really enjoyed the feeling and hope to continue running. I wish I would have started this so long ago, but I always thought I couldn't do it. Funny thing has happened since the birth of my children. It has given me motivation and a confidence to try new things that I didn't have before.

I am thankful for the blessings God has given me with these two little bundles of joy.

Grand Lake

We recently went to Grand Lake with my sister Devan and her boyfriend Matt. What a relaxing and fun getaway. The girls loved riding in the boat and we stayed at a fabulous cottage.

Lilly is always up for a good time! She is my social butterfly, loves friends, and loves to go go go. She is sweet and kind with lots of love for anyone she sees. She has had a great summer getting to spend time with her friends above. She is making faces with Daxxon, loving on her cousin Noah and haning out with her good friend Piper.

We have a small little water spray park in our town, but it only sprays one hour a day? Kind of crazy, so we have only done it once. She loves to "hangout" with her Daddy. She recently farmed with him for an evening and a morning while Sophia and I went to a Women's Conference. She loves getting to ride the tractor and see the cows. Rusty says she is a really good girl with him.

Thank you Rusty, for being such a fun Daddy and for letting her "work" with you!

She loves for you to tell her stories and always wants to either watch a movie or read a book. She is a very good Mommy to her babies. Their names are Renna, Reagan, and Molly after my friends girls. I am the Grandma and She is Mendy a lot of times. What a joy to see your daughter actually pretending. So sweet.

I just love this girl! I am having a lot of fun being her Mommy.

Sopha Bia is 6 months

Sophia is getting so big! This is what she usually looks like...smiling and so happy. She loves to play with this new toy because for about two weeks she has been sitting up. She loves her big sister and is just a sweet little joy. We like to call her Sophia Bia around here. And I actually seem to call her that a lot. Do you think she might look a little like her Daddy?

She is famous for doing sit ups all ready. It is the funniest thing ever. If she doesn't want to lay on the ground, she just starts pulling herself up like a sit up. She is going to have the strongest tummy muscles.

We just started food a week ago. She has eaten carrots, butternut squash, bananas, and rice cereal. She doesn't eat much yet, but I can tell she is liking it more and more. Lilly would love to feed her, but Mom doesn't allow that! I am also attempting to get this child to sleep through the night. I will say Sophia is much more spoiled then Lilly when it comes to sleep. I have let the girl cry it out, but to no avail she still doesn't sleep through the night. Actually my breastfeeding book said that she may not, but this Mom is TIRED. I mean I thought it was bad that Lilly didn't sleep through until 4 months. That was wonderful! Oh, well....what is one year of your life without a full 8 hours? I have actually been able to breastfeed Sophia much longer then Lilly. This is a very exciting thing for me. Breastfeeding Lilly was the hardest thing in my life and to be honest a little disappointing that it didn't work well for me. So, it has been a blessing for it to be going well now.

Well, we sure are enjoying our two girls. I will post an update on Lilly soon. Have a great weekend!

We are very excited that Hannah Beth joined the BIG Roush Cousin Clan. She is the 11th Cousin to be born since 2001. She also is the 4th girl to be born in a row. There are 6 girls and 5 boys. Girls rule!

Hannah Beth was 81bs 12oz. Congrats Sara and Josh. We hope life is going well with three!

Family Vacation and Summer Fun

Here are a couple of pic's from our Family Vacation in Dallas. We had a really fun time swimming, shopping and going to the Dallas Aquarium. Lilly liked the tiger and the Monkeys......Yes we were at the Aquarium not the Zoo, but they had lots of animals. Sophia just liked hanging out. They both were great travelers.

Lilly is holding her very favorite Baby Bunny in the picture above. She loves him more then anything! She attached on to him at the time of Sophia's birth and our move. Rusty and I are constantly saying to each other "Where is Baby Bunny?".

We recently went to the Woodward Elks Rodeo with Grams and Gramps and Nana and Granddad. Lilly really liked it and talked about the cowboys and clowns afterward. We also went to the Rodeo Parade the next morning with Aunt Devan and Matt. It was hot, but everyone had fun.

My Grandma Bennett came to visit us which was a special treat. She doesn't leave Texas very often, so we were very excited to have her visit. She enjoyed seeing the girls and some of Rusty's families farm land. She lived most of her life on the farm, so it was fun for her to see what Rusty does her in Oklahoma.

Our Family has also been picking Sand Plums here near our home and making Sand Plum Jelly. Growing up this was my very favorite jelly, but I didn't know how much work it took to make. I really appreciate all the sweet people that took time to make it during my childhood. It is fun to make and even more fun to eat!

We are excited to go and see the new addition to the Roush family this weekend. Our Cousin Hannah Beth arrived on 8-9-10 and we can't wait to hold her. We will post pictures soon of our new cousin.

We are alive

It has been a long time since I wrote on my blog. We have had a fun summer of swimming and playing in this 100 degree weather. These pictures are from Father's Day and my 10 year reunion in Woodward. I haven't even taken pictures off of my camera since then! You just don't even know how the day can go by so fast until you have two little ones!

Sophia is smiling, talking, and rolling from her belly to her back and back to her belly. She hasn't figured out how to keep on going. That is fine with me. This Mom just wants her to stay a baby as long as possible. She also just got in her first two teeth right before she turned 5 months old. She is a very happy go lucky little sweetheart.

Lilly is talking up a storm and just loves playing with friends. We are still potty training.....yes it has been about 2 1/2 months, but who is counting? She loves the water and loves Church. She also loves ice cream. Today we went swimming at the public pool and went to Braums for dinner. On our way home Lilly said "swimming, ice cream, and now where going home!". She said it like it had to be the best day ever. She also loves people. Everywhere we go she talks to anyone who will let her ask them questions. She also trys to wear other peoples sun glasses and jewelry.......even if she has never seen the person before.

Hopefully it will not be so long between posts. Hope everyone is having a great summer!

This is the wheat field behind our home.

Here are a couple of pictures of our new house. We are enjoying living in town, with the feel of the country in the backyard. We live near a golf course which is exciting for Rusty, but he has been so busy that he actually hasn't even played yet. In front of our house our neighbors have 4 or 5 beautiful horses. They are fun to watch and Lilly likes to go and say hi to them. We still want to paint the front door black and do a little landscaping. Rusty made the shutters that we put on the front of the house and I painted them. They are really heavy and it was a big job getting them hung.

We are glad to be all unpacked! I'll show you more of the inside once I get it a little more together.

We have been on the move...literally! It has been a very busy month for this Momma. I can't talk long, but wanted to update some pictures. If you haven't heard we have moved to Western Oklahoma. We are really enjoying our new home and have been meeting some very friendly people. Below is a list just to give you a glimpse of what has been going on in our lives in the past month:

Many of you know my good friend Mendy (Gage) Laughlin. We have been friends as far back as our High School days. I consider it an honor to even know Mendy, but to have her as a life long friend is pretty remarkable. We have been through many wonderful times in our life.....helping each other in beauty pageants, performing in high school musicals, living together in college, praying for our future husbands, holding each other accountable in our walks with God and planning our futures as Mommies. We recently both have been blessed with becoming pregnant, but Mendy actually had a much different experience then I. She was blessed with twins. These beautiful girls decided to come into our world at only 28 weeks of gestation. Life as Mendy new it was changed forever. These sweet babies spent days that turned into months in the hospital before Mendy was ever able to bring them home. Needless to say, she and many of her friends have a heart for premature babies. That is why I am participating in the March of Dimes March for Babies on May 8th in Oklahoma City. The girls and I will be walking with Mendy and her sweet girls Renna and Reagan. We are so excited to have these girls here in our lives healthy and happy, but it would not be the case if it wasn't for the medical care that they received while in the hospital.

Sophia Jacqueline is here and we are just thrilled. The photo above is me moments before we headed to the hospital at around 7:45pm Monday, Februray 15th. This was my actually due date with Sophia. I had been having contractions all day, but they weren't bad at all. Once I arrived at the hospital I was dillated to a 6 and 4 hours later we had Sophia with no medication and one push! It was just an amazing delivery experience.

Many people have told me through the last week of my pregnancy that they were praying for me and many more people have said that I was on their minds and in their prayers on that specific day. I was so humbled by so many people lifting me up in prayer, because to be honest I just wasn't able to pray for it myself. God blessed me and Rusty so much through the power of prayer. I wanted this experience to go so well and it exceeded my expectations.

Sophia Jacqueline was born at 11:06pm weighing 7lbs 13oz 21in. with dark brown, almost black, hair. Her middle name is here Daddy's Grandmother's name that passed this June. We knew her as Granny.

I will tell you more when I get time. Man, having two little ones is a lot of work, but we are really doing well, just a little tired.

Lilly turned 2 this week and had a fab birthday at her favorite place Chick-fil-A. She loves Chick-fil-A and asks to go there at least once a week. We were supposed to have her party during the snow storm, but had to cancel. I was so glad that we ended up getting to have it this weekend. She loved playing with her cousin's and her friends Piper and Daxx. All the adults had a good time watching the kids.

Lilly's favorite part of her party was eating the cupcakes. She at the icing first and then every bite to the last crumb. The Chick-fil-A cow came to visit and gave the kids a stuffed cow which was a lot of fun for everyone, but Piper. She did not want to even be in the same room as the cow! My Mom took her to the play area until the Cow had left the building. Poor girl. All the kids had a ton of fun playing in the play place.

Well, many of you know that Rusty shares his birthday with Lilly. On there special day they had a cake sent to them from Nana. Daddy let Lilly lick the frosting off the cake, which she thought was so cool. They had a fun day of celebrating together.

I have to say that I really never just leave my daughter in her pj's all day even when we have no where to go, but for some reason she still had them on at lunch time on her birthday! I guess we were really relaxing and enjoying the day.

This is Lilly's "Pumpkin" the snowman she made with her Daddy after we got back from Christmas. We asked her what she wanted to name it and she said "Pumpkin". She loved being out in the snow so much, we had a hard time getting her to come inside. Actually the snow man is still standing in our back yard after two weeks. It's so cold outside!

So, 2010 is going to be a big one for us. We are expecting our second little girl in February. I thought I would give you a pregnancy pic. My shirt is sticking out in the back.....that isn't all of my back end please let me note!haha I feel like a barn and am ready to have this precious little one out of my body, but am I ready for the craziness? I think so. I have washed the baby clothes and Rusty has put the cradle together. It's so funny how different getting ready for the second one is compared to the first baby. We are very excited. Keep watching for news of her arrival!

Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas! We hope you had a great one too. It was such a great year fellowshiping with our friends and family. I was not stressed out at all and we did so many things.

Lilly saw Santa twice once at Daddy's Office and at Nana and Granddad's.....the picture above is Granddad dressed as Santa. What a fun tradition. What Lilly remembers the most about Santa is that he brought her a sucker and a piece of chocolate. She wouldn't go to either one until we told her that he would give her candy! She never cried, which I was surprised. At the beginning of December when the Christmas Tree went up she started to say she was "scared" because Christmas was coming. I didn't understand for awhile, but she meant Santa.

Lilly also made a gingerbread "shack" with her cousin Noah at our house. I call it a "shack", because it wasn't a traditional house. I tried to make them without a guide! Why I thought I would know how to construct a house out of gingerbread is beyond me. They loved it!

Lilly loved spending time with her cousin's at Nana's. They played and played. You can see them in their matching Christmas PJ's.

Before we headed to Woodward for Christmas, Rusty, Lilly and I spent Christmas together at our house. We went to Lilly's favorite place for dinner....Chickfila! She got to see the cow dressed up as Santa and played in the play place with some girls. We came home and opened our presents.

We then headed to Woodward with Aunt Devan to visit Grams and Gramps before the blizzard hit. We got to go to a Christmas Eve service, have Christmas with Grandma Eagon and enjoy just visiting with family and friends. It was very relaxing.

Then we headed to Plainview, TX to see my Grandma Bennett and family. Lilly was such a great traveler. It's a 4 hour drive from Woodward and 5 hours back to OKC. Lilly got to play with my cousin's children, which was a lot of fun.

The next weekend we went to Laverne, OK to visit with the Roush Family for Christmas. We had a good time seeing everyone and watching the OSU bowl game.

I can't believe it has come and gone. I can say this year I really felt connected to the true meaning of Christmas because of my sweet little lillian. We would talk about Jesus birth almost everyday and she would remind me about it just out of the blue. Seeing how excited she was to look at the manger and talk about everyone who was involved in our Saviors birth, gave me a new perspective on what Christmas means. What a blessing.

Thank you Lord for little girls who love Baby Jesus!

Fall Happenings

Above is the pumpkin patch we went to in front of Rusty's work. Lilly loved getting to pick out a pumpkin, until she tripped and hit her lip on a pumpkin stem! I think it hurt pretty bad, but she is pretty tough.

Above are Halloween pictures of Lilly and Piper in their fifties skirts Shelly and her Mom Judy made for the girls. Aren't they cute! Thank you Judy so much! Shelly and I took the girls out for a little photo season on Halloween. They had so much fun playing outside and running in the leaves. I think they are already becoming good friends. What a joy to watch.

Being a little creative

So, I got into a very fun mood one day and decided to be creative! I love being creative. It is a high for me. It is that feeling when you are standing behind a red velvet curtain on a large wooden stage in total darkness and music begins to play. Instantly the curtain opens and light peeks through a small crack as the velvet flows past you. Your heart starts to pound while the music grows louder and the light becomes blinding. All of a sudden your in front of a crowd but you can't see anything. Your ready to give everything you have and thankfully your not playing yourself for at least the next two hours, so you actually believe your capable of doing anything. Ah.....that is the most fun ever!

This girl hasn't been in front of a stage in a long time, which is probably a good thing! Being creative gives me that same feeling. The nice thing about creating is you always have something to show for what you have been up to. Here are a few pictures of my day of cooking, photo taking and painting.

One of my college friends, Amber, recently asked me to do some painting for her new Optometry Clinic her in OK. I haven't really done anything like that since High School, but I was so excited to try. Here are the pictures of the process and the end result.

Chicken Tortilla Soup
So, yummmmmy and simple

3 frozen chicken breasts
1 can black beans
2 cans rotel
1 cup salsa
1 small can of chillis
1 can tomato sauce

Put all ingredients in your slow cooker in the morning and leave on low for 5-6 hours. When you get home from work or taking care of the kids all day you have a really good meal. Add, tortilla chips, chesse, sour cream, avacadoes, and black olives!

Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread
This is my Cousin Melveta's recipe. Thanks Melveta!

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
2c sugar
2 eggs
3c flour
1/2 t baking powder, baking soda, salt
1 1/2c mashed bananas = 4 bananas
1/2 t vanilla

beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed with an elec. mixer until fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended after each addition.

Combine flour and next 3 ingredients gradually add to butter mixture beating at low speed just until blended. Stir in bananas, pecans and vanilla. Spoon batter into 2 greased and floured 8x4 loaf pans or pour into muffin tins.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour first.

Stir together 1/2c brown sugar, 1/2c chopped pecans, 1 T melted butter and 1/8 t ground cinnamon. Sprinkle over bater. Put foil on pan last 15 min. Cool 10 min in pan and 30 min on wire rack before serving.

I thought I should post a family picture with just the three of us, because it only will be 4 months until a new little one will be joining us. Surprise, it's a little girl. Soon Rusty will have to be playing dress up and having tea parties with all three of his girls! I can not believe we are having another little girl in exactly the same month. My sister and I were both born in June, so I have a little experience with this. We are three years apart and my girls will be two. Sisters are such a blessing and I am so thankful for mine! I pray Lilly and this new little one will grow close and have a life long friendship. I know there will be many days of fighting about who is the boss of who, someone just took what was theirs, who's turn it is to ride in the front seat of the car, and who gets to wear that shirt they both wanted to "share" when shopping at the mall a week earlier. But, in between all of that will be fun times of hugs and kisses and playing and learning about our Savior Jesus together. We are so excited for her to join us. Lilly I know can't wait until her "Seesster" comes for her to take care of. That's how she says it, it's so cute. She loves giving babies their bottles, pacies and blankies. I know she is going to be my Big helper.

Purple Superhero

Lilly is growing up so much and it is a lot of fun. I had to share these pictures of her being a superhero with her "blankey" while Mom was trying to fold laundry. She has started to really love her blankets and talk about going "Nigh Nigh" all day. It's so funny. She doesn't really want to go to sleep she just likes to pretend. I am enjoying this pretending stage. She makes me "pizzies" in her kitchen and likes to serve me juice for a snack. She also likes to jump on my back and say "monkey", "monkey". We pretend I have monkey's on my back and it cracks her up. Her favorite show to watch on TV is Curious George. I started letting her watch about 15-20 minuets of TV after her naps. We don't have cable, but we do get OETA Kids and at 3pm Curious George comes on. She likes to yell "monkey" "monkey" at the TV when he comes on and throughout the entire 15 minuets. That's really the only show she likes, so if our nap isn't over at that time she misses it and really would rather just play. Lilly still loves bath time, but has started to lay in the water and swim on her belly. She is a great eater, almost eats anything except potatoes. It doesn't matter what kind of potato it is, besides french fries, she will not even touch them. I have been surprised, but she still likes her vegetables, but she eats them much better with a fork and if you give it to her before the good stuff. She loves pickles and asks for them if she sees anyone else eating one. She talks about going potty a lot, but has never actually been on the potty. We have sat on the potty for up to 15 minuets, but nothing happened. I guess we aren't ready for that yet. She loves the church nursery right now and has no problem going. When we drive up to the sign outside our church, she says "chuwrch" "chuwrch", which is too cute! Also, Lilly loves to say Hi to everyone she sees. When we are in the store all of the older people just light up when she tries to get their attention.

Tea with Nana

Recently we went to tea with Lilly's Nana in Edmond at Inspirations Tea Room. We ate with our cousins Katie, Noah, and Aunt Sara. We have really enjoyed getting to be near Lilly's cousins. Lilly loves playing with them and they only live about 15 minutes away. This tea room was amazing with the cutest plates and dishes for us to use. Katie even got to have pink lemonade out of a pink china cup. She thought that was the best. At the front of the restaurant the kids were able to pick out the hats they wanted to wear while we ate. Thanks Nana for a fun lunch!

Pregnancy Update

My friend Hannah requested a pregnancy update, so for her and all of my followers...haha here it goes. I am 17 weeks pregnant and feeling great once I hit 14 weeks I started getting my old energy back. I just started feeling the baby move this week which has been a lot of fun. I posted this picture because it is the most recent about two weeks ago. Our ultrasound is scheduled for September 25th. We are excited! We do not have any names and we have decided to wait to see the baby before we officially name the child. I have heard from others this means we will be harassed for the next 5 months about not picking one, but we wanted to do it a little different this time. That's about it. Thanks for asking Hannah!

Visiting Family in Texas

At the end of July Lilly, my Mom and I went to visit our family in Plainview, TX. We had such a good time visiting with everyone and it was so good to see my Grandmother who is 90 years old and still lives on her own and drives. I hope to be able to do the same at that age.

The first pictures you see are of my Aunt Gwen's beautiful garden. She has the greenest thumb I have ever seen! It's amazing. Lilly got to feed the goldfish in her backyard with our cousin Kylie. Lilly also got to feed a lot of animals at my Aunt Leta's house. That crazy goat was so funny and loved his "cookies" they called it. Lilly just had a ball feeding palomino horses, dogs, goats and donkeys. It was fun to watch. Lilly was a great traveler and learned that Gram's has a "TV" in her car. Every time we got back in the car she wanted the "TV" on. I tried to tell her it was for long rides, not just to drive down the street. It was a fun visit.

4th of July with the Levy's

This year we spent 4th of July down South with the Levy's. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed playing together. We did a lot while we where there. We swam, played at the local spray pad, went to the hometown parade that lasted about 10 min's and watched fireworks at the lake. Shelly and I also tried to do a photo shoot with the girls......well, have you ever tried to get two one year olds to smile at the same time? Didn't happen for these two, but we got a lot of cute pictures of them and their Daddies. Thanks Levy's for a fun 4th!

Beating the Heat

This summer Lilly and I would go outside to beat the summer heat in the backyard or at the splash park. I am so thankful that Lilly loves water. It takes her a little while to get used to the water wherever we go, but once she does she loves it and can't get enough of it. She also enjoys helping Mommy water the plants. When she does water she would rather do it herself! She does not like for me to hold the hose with her.

Lilly loves bubbles and Grams and Gramps have a bubble machine in the backyard that Lilly loved playing with on our trip to celebrate Mom and Dad's 30th Anniversary. We ate with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Devan and had a fun time playing in the backyard. Gramps has a beautiful backyard with lots of flowers. He has always had a green thumb!

Potato Harvest

At Nana and Granddad's there is a beautiful large garden in the back yard which supplies all the grandchildren wonderful vegetables all summer. One time a year there is a Potato Harvest and the grandchildren come to help dig up the potatoes. This year it was in the middle of June and everyone but the two littlest, Lilly and Benjamin, worked to harvest the potatoes. Lilly and Benjamin were able to relax, play, and take naps while all the other grandchildren worked their fingers to the bone! I think they will be big enough to help next summer!

The Big News.......

Well, I have been missing for a little while and have a lot of updating! We are expecting and Lilly is going to be a Big Sister in February. Lilly will be two in February and her Daddy will be 29. We are very excited and look forward to adding to our family.

These past 3 months have been some of the most tiring months I have ever experienced. I do not remember being so exhausted with Lilly, but I didn't have an 18 month old at the time either. That probably makes a big difference! So, needless to say the blog and many other things have gone to the wayside while I have been awaiting the second trimester to appear. I am hoping for that boost of energy to come running back. I can not complain though, because I have not been sick once. What a blessing!

I just got my very own canon so I have lots of pictures to share with you. This was a gift for my birthday from about anyone who gave me a gift this year!haha I am enjoying it, but look forward to really figuring out how to use it. I need Betsy, Charity and Kizzy to give me some lessons!

Daddy's Beautiful Yard

Lilly and I are very proud of Rusty's yard. He has a very green thumb and really enjoys making his lawn look nice. It's kind of Lilly and my job to keep things watered and weeded. We sometimes slip-up on the job, but we are working harder at it. Lilly loves being outside and holding the water can. I am becoming more of an outdoors girl myself, since Lilly enjoys it so much. Man, children change you in so many ways!

Memorial Weekend

The two pictures above are of Lilly and Rusty at the Zoo. It was so hot on Monday, but we had such a fun time. Lilly's favorite thing was the water misters to keep everyone cool. Rusty put her on his shoulders and stood under them for her to get wet. She would squil with delight! We saw lots of animals, but Lilly really was more interested in her snacks. I wonder were she gets that??? The picture above is of her saying "MMMMOOOORE". She says it a lot these days. The pediatrician said that toddlers at this age usually have a decrease in appetite, but he didn't take into account that Lilly was my daughter so it doesn't really apply!

Fun in the Sun

Lilly had so much fun yesterday playing with her good friend Daxx! It was beautiful and we decided to go outside and water the flowers. Daxx is about 3 weeks older then Lilly, so they play really well together. Lilly does like to take his pacifier away from him, so his Mommy was smart to put the pacifier clipper on him before sending him our way. Well, as you can see it did not stop Lilly from "trying" to take it from him! Maybe Lilly remembers the days of her pacifier youth and wants to take a suck off of his. I do not know. She is a thumb sucking girl herself. I wish she still had a pacifier, because I am worried she will suck her thumb until she is 5! I am not doing anything about it now, I guess I'll just let her enjoy being a little one.

You can tell the kids have different clothes on in these pictures. We decided it was pretty dirty outside and we didn't want to get our nice clothes soiled. It was also hot! It was 90 degrees yesterday. The kids loved when I would spray the water and little drops of mist would land on their faces and arms. I can't wait to get the sprinkler out for Lilly to run through. She is going to have a fun time this summer.

Easter

Miss Lilly was not feeling so great Easter weekend. We had to take her to the doctor for croup. So we played a little at Grams and Gramps and visited with our my cousins at my Grandma Eagon's. We did dress up to eat lunch, but we didn't get to go to Church this Easter. I think this was probably my first Easter of my life not to go to Church. We celebrated Christ's love for us in our hearts and thanked him for giving his life so that we could live with Him. Lilly is feeling much better and happy as can be. Next year will be a fun Easter Egg Hunt for her, so we hope she is feeling good then!

Last weekend we took a trip to Norman for Lilly's cousin Noah's 2nd Birthday. She had so much fun playing with Katie and Noah's toys. We also couldn't get her out of Noah's New Birthday Toys including a John Deere Tractor! We have a John Deere Tractor book which is also her favorite book to read. Maybe she is going to be a Cowgirl. Then we headed to visit our Friends the Levy's to play with Piper. It was a beautiful day and we had such a great time hanging out with friends. I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather!

Getting so Big!

Last week Lilly's friend Case came to play and they had such a good time.

Well it has been awhile since I posted. To be honest, I haven't really been in the blogging spirit. Maybe I'll get with it, who knows.

Lilly is growing so much and it is a pleasure to be her Mommy. She is talking a lot and trying to repeat words I say. She can say Ball, Baby, Bible, Book......a lot of B words. She loves Milk and says MILLLL to let me know she needs some. I have to limit her on it, because she would drink it all day if I let her.

She loves to walk all around the house, but she must carry something for it to be enjoyable. Babies are a favorite to carry around. I think Lilly is between taking one and two naps a day. I love the two nap schedule and really don't want it to change, but I am sure in the near future she will be going down to one nap.

I recently taught her how to roll on the ground with my help. She will put her hands down and I will flip her over. She claps for herself when she is done. She has not bitten me in a while, but she started to bite her babies. Sometimes I think she is mad at them. Can a child at 13 months already have an imagination? She sure seems too have one.

We are getting much more involved in the community and at Church. Rusty is enjoying his job and working outside since the weather has been pretty nice. We were supposed to get a really bad snow storm, but it did not hit us like it did NW Oklahoma. I can't believe how much snow there was in my home town. Here are a couple of pictures of Lilly! I had so much fun planning Lilly's First Birthday Party. The picture of her at the top was the picture on her invitation. We did a photo shoot in the living room one day. That is a little harder then it looks. Betsy.....you must be amazing to get all of those kids to sit for you! I love to make things so I made a birthday banner and a crown. I used mostly paper I already had and found a scrapbook store that let me use their die-cut for free! So the banner was so inexpensive. Also, I found a lot of the hearts I decorated with for a $1. My Mom and my friend Shelly let me borrow several glass items and it was finished!

Lilly, Happy 1st Birthday! I can not tell you how much I love you. You make Daddy and Mommy so proud. We have enjoyed getting to see you grow this year and are loving every new change. My favorite thing that we do together is play in the living room. You love for me to chase after you and hide behind the living room wall for you to come and find me. I love waking you up in the morning and putting you to bed at night. You cuttle with me each time with you thumb in your mouth. I love it when you hide behind my back and try to sneak around so I can see you. We thank God that he gave us such a sweet little girl to watch and take care of.

Holiday Fun

We had a fun Christmas. Lilly really liked playing with her toys and the wrapping they came in. We traveled to Plainview, TX, Woodward and Arapaho. She was a wonderful Traveler. It already seems like it was several months ago. We loved getting to spend time with family.

Lilly is growing up so fast. She is officially off the bottle and drinking milk. It is such a mess! I think drinking out of bottles is a little easier, but I wanted to get her to drink her sippy cup before she could scream for her bottle. I did not think it would ever happen because she was so attached to the bottle, but once I figured out I needed to warm her milk up she did not care about the bottle anymore. She has been sucking her thumb a lot more since she dropped the bottle. I think her bottle was a comfort to her. I guess we will have to work on the thumb sucking at another time.

The next big event is her Birthday. She is almost one and her Daddy is almost 28! They share a birthday, which is very special.

The weather outside is frightful

Lilly and I have been enjoying this cold weather. We traveled last week to visit Piper and Shelly while Michael was away and had a lot of fun. Boy was it cold! The girls are able to play together more and more. It is fun to get them together.

It has been Christmas at our house since a week before Thanksgiving. Rusty has the outside of our house looking fantastic and is hoping he places in the neighborhood light competition. If he doesn't win this year he says he is stepping it up next year!haha We both worked on the Christmas tree inside. Lilly has magically stayed out of the tree and the presents. She is walking around everything and crawling so much faster on her hands and knees that I am surprised we have not had any problems. Lilly and I also like to listen to nonstop Christmas music every day! If Lilly could sing she would have all the Christmas songs down by now.

Well, we are very excited to celebrate Jesus birth. I am so thankful God sent his son to die for me. I am in awe of God's sacrifice now having a child of my own. I can not fathom giving Lilly up for anyone, let alone someone who is a sinner such as myself. So, I just want to really celebrate this wonderful majestic gift God sent to us so many years ago! May God's free gift of grace be a joy to you this year and many more to come.

I already posted our Roush family photo on a previous blog. The weekend before Thanksgiving we spent a fun weekend in Arapaho visiting with Lilly's cousins. She just laughs and plays and enjoys watching all the activity. It will be a lot of fun when she gets a little older because Noah is only 10 months older and Benjamin is 6 weeks older then Lilly. I wonder how she will do keeping up with the boys. Lilly is an out door girl so, she should be fine getting dirty. She must have inherited that from Rusty, because I never was much for getting any part of me dirty, which kept me inside a lot!

Aunt Devan rode down to Texas with us in the car and Lilly gave her a good 30 minutes of a screaming fit. All in all Lilly did a great job driving in the car. That was our only little battle. On our way back she slept 2 hours!

We went through an ICE exhibit at the hotel. Everything was made of ice and it was only 9 degrees in the building! Freezing! So, we had to wear these large parkas to keep us warm. It was neat to see these huge displays of ice. Rusty even slide down a slide of ice. Pretty funny. This is Lilly and her Grandma going through the exhibit.

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Eagon family in Dallas this year. This is a picture of us at the hotel we hate Thanksgiving lunch. It was wonderful! We also meet up with my Dad's brother Clay Don and his new family. It was a very fun Thanksgiving lunch. We had a great time playing around in the Hotel the Texan and shopping on Black Friday! We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

The Great Escape

Lilly is 9 months old. I can't believe it. She weighs 18lbs and is 29in long. She is jabbering up a storm and cruising along the furniture. She officially said "Bye Bye" this weekend to her Granny and is saying Momma and Dada. Her favorite food to eat is grapes! She has a fit if you only give her a few and will not eat any other food after you have presented the grapes to her. I guess she has a sweet tooth like her Mom! So, we try to limit the grapes. She loves to have you walk her around the room or house. She also is very much a Momma's girl. She doesn't let me out of her sight very often when it is just the two of us in the house. This month has also been our first month of sickness. She has had several colds and the doctors at Mercy know us by name. I didn't realize I would be at the doctor so much, but I kept worrying about ear infections. She was on the verge of one and she did have to go on her first medicine.

These pictures are of her trying to escape her crib. When she wakes up in the morning she is siting up in bed and is either crying for someone to save her from her prison or she is laughing and playing with her blanket. One morning she got stuck sitting in the corner and when I went in I could tell she just needed help laying back down. I layed her down and she went right back to sleep. This is a fun stage and she is learning so much.

Well, we wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for our Lord Jesus Christ and His love for his children by dieing for us so that we could live with him for eternity! We are also thankful for such wonderful family and friends.

One of the highlights was seeing Katie Holmes in "All My Sons". We were able to get standing room only tickets which were a lot less expensive. We really enjoyed the show.

Well, Rusty and I went on our first getaway with out sweet little Lillian in October. Our wonderful parents watched Lilly for us and she had a great time playing while we were away. It was such a great time for Rusty and I just to hangout, but we missed her a lot!

We love New York and the city was so beautiful this time of year. We biked central park, took tours of the city, saw Brooklyn, took in some shows, shopped and ate! We did a lot of eating. We even ate at a traditional Korean Restaurant. Very interesting. We actually had to ask the waiter what we were eating. We did take time to watch the OSU vs Texas game! We were the only ones in the restaurant watching that game, but it was still very exciting.

Buzz....I'm a little Bee

Lillian had a lot of fun on Friday for Halloween. She dressed up as a bee and played with her friend Piper...the ballerina. We had lots of trick-or-treaters come to our door. It was perfect weather to get dressed up and go out looking for candy!

OSU Homecoming 2008

Homecoming and Walkaround was so much fun this year. Lilly absolutely loved being with thousands of people. We were able to visit with many friends we had not seen in a long while. On Homecoming Lilly and I watched the band practice on Library Lawn while she ate her lunch and walked around campus with Shelly and Piper. Shelly has a cute picture of us in front of the Library on her blog. Rusty walked around from 6:30pm to 9:30pm with Lilly straped to him on Friday. Lilly stayed up way past her bed time, but it didn't seem to bother her at all. She actually seemed to get a second wind around 8:00pm. We hope Lilly will be a "Cowgirl" in about 18 years!

The Leaves Are Falling

One Friday night Lilly and I went golfing with Rusty. It was so much fun and Lilly loved riding in the golf cart.

The leaves are falling and we are enjoying this beautiful weather. We have a really neat park near our house and Lilly has had fun swinging in the baby swing. You can tell by her fun smile. Lilly is 8 months old and has just started to clap when you ask her to and occasionally wave bye bye. She is the most curious thing ever. She does not sit still for a moment unless you put cheerios on her highchair. Then she will sit there intently for 30 min. trying to pick them up with her hands to put them in her mouth. That saves me some good cooking time in the kitchen!

Lilly is at the stage where she wants a lot of attention. She likes to play, but would rather play with you or at least have you in the same room while she plays. I'm taking it all in, because I know children do not want you around forever.

I have been enjoying attending MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and going to a Women's Bible Study called Can We Talk. It has been great to get to know some other Mom's. Something I have been praying for. Lilly has been doing pretty well in the nursery as long as there are a lot of other babies to play with. The most fun for me is when her eyes light up to see Mommy is there to pick her up.

Trip to Woodward and a Big Congrats

Rusty was away on an Alumni Reunion in Stillwater while we made the trip to Woodward, but I do have to share some big news.....He passed the CPA Exam! Yeah Lilly and I are so proud of you, Rusty. You have worked extremely hard and deserve a big break from studying.

Lilly and I went to visit her Grams and Gramps in Woodward with Shelly and Piper. The girls did great on the trip up, but it was a crazy ride home. Lilly had two dirty diapers, Piper cried for an hour and we ran over a skunk! Praise the Lord Shelly and I have a lot of fun laughing together. We had a great time visiting and we enjoyed playing with my grandparents too. Woodward was having a small festival and we got to stroll around dowtown. It's always fun to go home and see whats going on in your hometown.

We had a wonderful time visiting Auntie Shelly and Piper in Ardmore with our friends Lindsey and Kinley. The Levy's just moved a couple of weeks ago and we are so happy that they are close to us. It only takes an hour in a half to get there. The girls were so great and we just talked and ate Shelly's good 7 layer dip! yum It is fun to get together to talk about all our child training questions. And having 3 girls pretty close together is also a blessing.

Here we are at the first OSU football game! Go Pokes! We had a great time and Lilly did amazing. She loved being passed around to all of the people setting around us. Lilly really likes anything when it involves lots of people and the outdoors. I think she is going to be my social bug.

Below are fun pictures I have taken of Lilly the past week or two. Sometimes after I put one of her outfits on her I take a couple of pictures. I know it's a little silly, but there is going to be a time when Lilly will want to pick out her own clothes and won't let me do it anymore. That will be so hard for me because I love clothes so much. I decided I better take advantage of it while I can and capture it on camera.

Lilly is 7 months and weighs 17 lbs 4oz. She has 4 teeth, one that just started coming in today, and is just about ready to start crawling. She wants to crawl so bad, but has not realized she needs to left up her belly off the ground to get going. She had a wonderful experience in the nursery this Sunday and even took a nap while she was there. I was so proud of her. We are just loving this little girl and enjoying every moment of this growing experience.

Lilly and I went to get the oil changed in our car before heading to Arapaho on Saturday. We didn't realize Saturday was the worst day of the week to get an oil change, but we quickly learned. It took 2 1/2 hours! Well, we found a cute store to look in while we were waiting. It's called Cloverleaf. It had the cutest things. I had to post this picture. It looks like Lilly is posing with this "oh yeah I can work the camera" pose. Her Daddy and I took her out to Hefner Lake and we strolled around. It was such a nice evening.

Just thought I would post our most recent Family picture. We had a great one taken outside of our house, but I deleted it! I was so mad at myself. But, this one will do. I realized the other day that we hadn't taken a photo of the three of us since June. I probably take to many pictures, but I don't want to miss any of Lilly's different stages.

A couple of updates. We have found a Church that we are excited about, so we are getting more involved to see if this is where God would lead us to call our Church Home. With this it also allows me to drop Lilly off in the nursery. Well, Lilly hasn't been the most happy camper at the Church Nursery. They have had to get me once out of Church to come see about her and it always seems that she needs a bottle way before it is time to eat.....which means she must have had a fit. So, I am hopeful that Lilly will soon come to love going to the nursery and playing with the other kids. I am sure it is hard to adjust when we hangout 24/7 all the time and then to come to the realization that Mom isn't coming back for awhile might be a lot to take. She will learn after several weeks of the same thing that everything will be fine and Mom will come back sooner or later.

Also, we have another tooth on the top left side that just came through. I am excited to see what Lilly looks like with a mouth full of teeth. I did not realize that her tooth had broken through until Tuesday morning I heard this awful sound coming from her mouth. I thought what in the world does she have in her mouth. I reach in there and realize she is grinding her teeth together. Ahhh.....she does it a couple of times throughout the day now. It makes your whole body tighten up when she starts to grind.

Just Hanging Out

Here is another picture of Lilly's first friend Casen. They are both 6 months now. Case's Mom meet me at the Mall and we talked and played with the kids. It has been so nice having someone who is literally in the same stage I am with little ones. I hope we are able to always keep up with Casen and see how each of these two kids lives change throughout the years.

Gram's and Gramp's came up to babysit while Mom and Dad went out for our 4th Wedding Anniversary. Lilly had a great time and so did her parents. Thanks for babysitting!

We had a really busy week last week, but this week has been nice and slow. Lilly probably gets a little bored with just hanging out with Mom on weeks like this!haha Lilly is really rolling everywhere right now and yesterday she rolled onto the wood floor. I didn't think she would like the hard surface, but she played on the floor for 30 min. It is so funny to see how they take so many things in when they first discover them.

We are all so glad that Rusty is finished studying. I think he is very happy to come home after work and not have to crack open a book. I just thought this picture of him and Lilly was sweet. She loves her Daddy. When he comes into the room she gets the biggest smile on her face.

I also posted a picture of her in a long sleeved outfit that our friends the Reeves from Bartlesville gave her. I just can't believe it is starting to become fall. It has rained for 3 days here and it has dropped to about 75 degrees. I am loving it. I just about got giddy the other day when I thought about fall. Rusty and I are both excited about football season.....for very different reasons. Rusty loves watching football and I love to go to Stillwater for OSU games and visit with friends. I am learning to actually watch the games while we are there. I am excited for Lilly to join in on the OSU festivities. I am sure I will have to get her picture taken with Pistol Pete.

Last Week

Last week Lilly meet Fred the Skeleton at Aunt Devan's apartment. It was funny to me that she was not scarred of it. She has already started to show signs of being scared of people she does not know. But she isn't scarred of the scary skeleton. You might wonder why my sister has a skeleton at home, but I must mention that Devan has a career in the health industry and studied Pre-Physical Therapy in college......that's why she has a skeleton. I am sure some day Lilly will think Fred is a fun toy to play with.

Lilly also visited her Granddad in the hospital last week. He had knee replacement surgery in OKC. We went to visit him and her Nana while he was recovering. Lilly enjoyed getting to see her Nana and Granddad, but wished he didn't have to be in the Hospital. We are glad you are back at home, Granddad. Please pray for Clint as he begins therapy.

Sitting Up

Lilly is growing and changing so fast! She is 6 months old, 25 1/2 in long and weighs 15 lbs 4 oz. she officially started sitting up on her own for long periods of time this weekend. It is fun to watch her play with her toys while sitting up. Lilly is sitting on this beautiful quilt that Rusty's friend Judi Sumter from Bartsville made for Lilly. We just love it! Thank you, Judi!

She is currently sleeping from 8pm to 7 or 8am and taking 2 to 3 naps in the afternoon. She takes a bottle four times a day and eats breakfast, lunch and dinner. About a week before she turned 6 months we had to put her on formula full time. I was really sad that I was not able to continue breastfeeding her longer, but around 4 months of age we noticed she was not gaining weight very well and she started fussing a lot during her feeding times. For about 2 months I pumped and gave her formula. My milk slowly started decreasing.

If you have read my blog from beginning to end you will remember how difficult breastfeeding was for me. I worked really hard and prayed a lot about breastfeeding, so it was disappointing to me that I did not get to continue it longer then I did. I hope that I will be able to breastfeed longer with my next child. I never new that something so natural would be so difficult both physically, emotionally, and mentally. God teaches us so many things in life. I do enjoy the times I get to feed her a bottle and it is nice that others get to enjoy feeding her as well.

Lilly and I like to go on walks in the evening while Rusty studies for his CPA Exam. We live close to a Big Lots so we go "shopping" a lot. I always try to leave my wallet at home so I am unable to buy anything. It has been nice to go there and walk in the air conditioning since it has been 107 degrees here.

Rusty will be taking his last section of the CPA Exam this weekend! We all are excited for him. I know he is ready to stop studying. That is just a little update on our lives. Have a great day!

Last weekend Lilly and I went to Tulsa to hang out with my girl friends from College. There are five of us that get together every year to spend quality time with one another. We are girls that will always be sharpening one anther to become better women of God. It is such a blessing to have friends that love me and want to encourage me in my walk with God, in my marriage and as a Mom.

These pictures are of three of our little ones. Three of us had girls this year in 2008 and two of them, after a long weekend with babies, have decided never to have children! Just kidding. The babies were great. In the picture above we have Piper 3 months, Lilly 6 months and Kinley 5 weeks old. They are all so beautiful. I like this photo of the three of them because it looks like they are serious models......their thinking "I guess we can do one more photo shoot, but we better be getting paid the big bucks for these!"

The Levy's came to visit us last weekend and Piper and Lilly had a great time. They were such good babies. We loved having them up to visit us. When we went to Woodward this weekend Lilly swam in Grams and Gramps pool. She loves the water and would stay in the water as long as we would let her.

This stage of life at 5 months old is so much fun. I am just loving being a Mommy. Lilly is growing and changing so fast. I just want to stop the clock for awhile.

We have been busy traveling this weekend. We have been to Woodward and Arapaho visiting our families. We are tired, but had a fun time. Pam, Rusty's Mom, had relatives come in from Switzerland for a family reunion. We went to the Woodward Elks Rodeo, on a hay ride and horse back riding. The Swiss relatives enjoyed the "Wild West"!

Happy 4th of July

We had a great 4th just hanging out at home. We did not see any fireworks this year due to little one's bed time of 8pm, but we dressed Lilly in her cute red, white and blue and went out to eat for breakfast at Classen Grill....so good!

I can't believe how big Lilly is getting. June was such a fun month of watching her grow and begin to sleep through the night. It has been nice to finally be settled in our home. I am looking forward to meeting new friends and finding a church home. We have been working on finding a church, but it takes a lot of time in such a big city.

I am anxious to find some women that have children to connect with. I have been so blessed with friends in Bartlesville and Stillwater that I miss a lot. I know God will provide a great group here as well.

Trip to Plainview Texas

Lilly got the chance to meet her Grams side of the family in Plainview, TX. We traveled 6 hours from OKC in total and Lilly did a great job. She got to meet lots of cousins and my Aunts and Uncles.

Right before we left Lilly started to roll and she has not stopped. At first she tried and tried while Rusty and I would cheer her on, but she would never just flip on over. I can say I have never seen such a persistent child. Finally when no one was looking, we found her on her back. My Mom and I were working together at my sister's apartment and every time we would leave her in the living room by herself, she would do it. Mom finally saw it for herself and once I got home I put her on the ground until she did it for me.

Also, Rusty has successfully taught Lilly to spit! She likes to spit all the time. It was really cute for a couple of days, but she does it all the time now. Rusty thinks it's funny and has taken video of the two of them spitting away.

Clay's Wedding

We celebrated Aunt Cortney's birthday and mine. Rusty worked with his Dad on the farm on Saturday morning and Lilly played with her cousins and napped. We then went to visit her Grams and Gramps in Woodward. She had a good time playing and visiting. We went to Church with them on Father's Day and ate lunch at home.

Lillian's Nursery

Lilly was hanging out in here crib when I was taking the pictures and had to take one of her. She is about to roll all the way over from her back to her belly. Lilly just cut her first two teeth last week. She is only 4 1/2 months old, but she has two teeth already. We all thought something was going on with all of the smacking, fussing, and drooling but the pediatrician did not think teeth would be the result. Then one day I felt on her little gums and was surprised to find a sharp little bud of a tooth. You can feel the two teeth, but it is hard to see. She does not like to move her tongue long enough to show them off.

We are also eating food. She has tried peas, bananas, and we are currently eating green beans. It is fun to watch her try new things and she is starting to get the hang of it. It sure is a mess! I did not think I would be spit at by my child, but it happens daily and green beans do not just wipe off easily.

May was a very busy month with our big move. Here are a couple of pictures of the house we just remodeled in no particular order. Hannah, I will get a picture of Lilly's nursery up soon! It was a lot of work to move with a 3 month old, but well worth it. This is the reason I have not had a lot of time to update this blog. Lilly is slowly adjusting to her new life. She has just started sleeping, for the most part, through the night. She goes to sleep around 8 - 8:30pm and wakes up from 4:30 - 7:30am then goes back to sleep until around 8 - 9am. In my books that is sleeping through the night.

Well, I must go. Lilly is waking up for the day. We are going to try to make some curtains for this house, with the help from some of my wonderful sewing friends! Hope to post some more pictures of Lilly soon.

Lilly is slowly learning to play in her toy that Grams is letting us barrow. She does not like to be left in it alone, but if I am where she can see me she will play for awhile.

Dad and Lilly. Where do you think Lilly got all of her good looks? Daddy has some strong genes. I think Lilly may have my lips, but not a whole lot more.

My friend Mendy and I visited my best friend Shelly to meet her sweet little girl, Piper Reese. Shelly is an amazing Mom and looks like she never had a child. Piper is 2 1/2 weeks old and Lilly is 15 weeks. They are sure to be good friends. We had a lot of fun. Thank you Mendy for driving down to Texas with me.

The OSU outfit Lilly is wearing is the first outfit I purchased when I found out I was pregnant. I did not know if we would have a boy or a girl, but I knew we would have an OSU fan!

We are so excited to be living near our Auntie Devan! Devan came over for dinner the other night and held Lilly while I tried to get a few things done around the house. It is very hard to move with a 3 month old!

Here is Lilly's Nana and Granddad with their 8 grandchildren in Arapaho for Mother's Day weekend. Lilly is the brown headed one.

Rusty took us to Deep Fork Grill for Mother's Day. It was a lot of fun...until Lilly had a major diaper blowout and we had to change her whole outfit. It is hard to change a diaper in a bathroom without a changing table! We enjoyed the wonderful food and atmosphere.

Grams came to visit and brought Lilly her first bathing suite. She looks so cute! We can't wait to get in the pool this summer.

Rusty is finished with his Masters! We just celebrated his graduation tonight. Lilly and I had a good time at his commencement ceremony. Lilly is very proud of her Daddy and looks forward to him going to work!haha Actually, she will miss having him around the house during the afternoon. It has been fun having him home so much after Lilly was born. It has been a special time. Now we are packing up our home and moving to OKC for Rusty to start his new job in June. It has been fun living in Stillwater and we will miss are Church Family and friends.

This is Lilly's friend Hudson who came to play a couple of weeks ago. He is so cute and a lot of fun. We loved having him and his Mom over and will really miss them when we move.

Last weekend Lilly and I went to my parents house to visit with my Grandma Bennett and my cousins Melveta and Ronnie from Texas. This picture is of my Grandma, Melveta and My Mother. Lilly also slept through the night for the first time last Sunday while we were there! I could not believe it. She has slept through the night one other time this week since then and I can not tell you how nice it feels to get a full 6 or 7 hours of sleep! Go Lilly, keep up the good work!

Well, I went to work this week for the first time in 3 months. It was hard to leave Lilly at home, but she was in good hands with her Grams, Nana, and Rusty. They all took turns taking care of her while I was at work. This picture is of my co-workers and friends Tiffany, Erin and Shelby. They love little Lillian and will have to come visit us when we move.

I can say that going back to work for one week is a blessing of Thankfulness. It gives me such a thankful heart that my sweet husband is allowing me to stay at home. I did not even have to really get Lilly ready in the mornings and take her anywhere and it was a lot of work. Also, while I was at work Lilly rolled over from her tummy to her back twice for her Daddy. My little girl is growing up! I made her do it when I got home so I could see for myself.

I really enjoyed being an Admissions Counselor for Oklahoma State University. I had great girls to work with and I loved seeing students choose to continue their education at OSU! It is such a special place. But, I am ready for my new career as a Mommy! I have a lot of on the job training to do.

Thumb Sucking

Today has changed everything. Lilly has found her thumb. As I am writing this post Lilly is asleep sucking her thumb. It has been such a fun day watching her discover this magical part of the body....the thumb. How can someone in one day decide that they are going to suck, suck, suck on their thumb. She has had her hands in her mouth from the beginning and loves to suck on her hands, but she was never able to just get the thumb in her mouth. Now she has mastered thumb sucking and I am sure we will have many years to come of trying to get her to stop sucking her thumb! But, right now it is just too cute for words.

Baby Dedication

Sunday was a wonderful day. We had our Baby Dedication at Church on Sunday. This was a day to come before our church family to make a public statement of our commitment to show and tell Lilly about the love of Christ. We hope that as we do this she will one day believe in Jesus as her Savior. We have been very blessed to be apart of such a great church family in Countryside here in Stillwater. Our pastor, JB, is pictured with us in this last picture. Both of our parents and my sister Devan were here to celebrate with us. We had a great day.

Busy Week

This was Lilly's 2 month appointment day with her pediatrician. She weighs 9 lb 10 oz and is 23 in long. She was a very tired girl after her big day. Her Daddy was trying to wake her up, but from the top picture you can see she was not obeying.

Little Miss Lilly has already been to her frist OSU football game. We had a lot of fun at the spring game on Saturday with her Nana and Grandad. This jersey was Rusty's when he was a little baby. Doesn't she look cute! I couldn't believe it fit her. Rusty was as big as Lilly the day he was born. This jersey must have shrunk a few sizes over the past 27 years.

Lilly is hanging out on her OSU blanket her Gram's bought me when I found out I was pregnant. We hope Lilly follows in her parents footsteps and becomes a Cowboy!

The Many faces of Lilly

It has been so fun to see Lilly grow. She loves to try to talk to you and watch your mouth as you talk with her. I can't believe all the new things she can do. Lilly has a duck that swings from her car seat that she will watch and talk to for a good length of time. Rusty bought her a mobile that has 3 fish on it that is attached to her crib. Her little eyes just watch each one as they pass and she shouts at them every once in awhile.

Well, as you can tell Lilly is napping. This is her second nap today and it is only 12pm! I think we are finally getting on a schedule. She is going to bed around 10pm, eating around 2:30am - 3:00am and waking up around 7am. We then take our bath and play. She then goes down for her morning nap around 8:30am. She wakes up about 9:30am - 10am and then today she stayed up and played on her Happy Hippo Gym for awhile and then went back down for a nap about 11:30am. When she wakes up we are going to go outside and enjoy this beautiful weather by taking a walk on OSU's campus and visit Daddy at school.

We had a wonderful Easter in Arapaho with Rusty's family. Lilly met her cousins Samuel, Tempe, Paul Lawrence, Harrison and Benjamin for the first time. These are Rusty's sister Cortney's children. Benjamin is only 6 weeks older then Lilly, so I know they will have many years of playing ahead of them.

Learning to Blog while teaching Little One to Nap!

Okay, I must apologize! I am not a very good blogger. Well, I might be better if Lilly took long regular naps. Actually, she is sleeping at this very moment! Yeah For the past 7 weeks I have not been able to get Lilly to nap, or should I say I have not allowed her to cry long enough to actually fall asleep. I should have large muscles in my arms from holding her, but no. I have a lot of updating to do. I will try to post more pictures today or when Lilly takes her next nap!

Lilly is growing and changing so fast. I have to say that I am probably changing just as fast as she is. Parenting is a new experience that no one can prepare you for. I am the type that reads all of the books and has to go by the rules and so that is what I did before my precious child came into the world. I still was not prepared. I think that God allows that to happen, because He is the only one that you can lean on and rely on. If I would have been the perfect parent on February 2, 2008 what would I need Him for?

I can say I am far from perfect and I have needed God more then ever. Starting with breastfeeding. I am going to say this once and then I will stop repeating it to every person I meet. Breastfeeding is the hardest thing I have ever done!!! I had no idea it would be so painful and time consuming. I can laugh at it now, because everything is starting to become natural for me, but if you would have talked with me 3 weeks ago I would have told you I am on the verge of giving up. People kept telling me to hang in there and it would get better after 6 weeks. I honestly did not believe them, but it has. I felt like no one told me before I had Lilly that breastfeeding would be hard, but as I spoke to more and more mothers they agreed that it was very difficult for them. I will try to warn more expecting mother's as I come in contact with them.

My favorite time with Lilly right now is Bath Time! She is so cute and loves the water. I give her a bath everyday. She really does not need one everyday, but it is too much fun. She loves her mobile in her crib that her Daddy bought and put up for her. I just can't believe how much a child changes from the time you lay her down to sleep to when you she wakes up the next morning. Just this morning she made the sweetest little sound that was new. When your child looks up at you with the look of...you are my Mommy... that probably is the most rewarding part of parenting so far for me.

Rusty has been an amazing Daddy and we are a great team! It has been so fun watching him with Lilly. He does everything and has been so great to let me go and do somethings outside the house while he watches her. Sometimes that can be hard when you are breastfeeding and Mom is the only one that can feed her, but he does it anyway.

I better go, but I did want to tell you that I will be working on my blogging skills and hopefully post many more pictures for you to see. I also want to mention for those of you who do not know me very well.....I am a very poor speller. If you see any mistakes, that is just me!

Lillian is about to be 2 weeks old on Saturday. Time has gone by fast. We are enjoying having our new little daughter home with us. I am learning that time goes by so quickly with a new little one. People used to tell me when they had their new babies they did not have time to brush their teeth until noon. I never thought I would be in those shoes, but yesterday my teeth did not get brushed until lunch!

While we were in the Hospital many friends and family came to great Lillian into the world. My fabulous friend Lindsey came and cleaned my house, bought groceries and did laundry for me! This was the most wonderful gift and it made coming home so nice! Thank you, Lindsey.

My Mom stayed with us to help get us on our feet by doing laundry, making breakfast and watching Lilly while I took a shower! I really enjoyed having her stay. It is a lot of adjustment at first bringing your first child home.

Lillian is sleeping really well at night and eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. We have had many fun visitors in the past 2 weeks. Both grandparents, Grams and Gramps - My Mom and Dad and Nana and Grandad - Rusty's Mom and Dad have been by to hold Lillian. Rusty's Sister Sara and her family came on Saturday and My best friend Shelly came on Sunday. Shelly made a long trip to see Miss Lilly all the way from Tyler, TX! We do not get to hangout very much, so it was a big treat to visit on Sunday morning.

We have been overwhelmed with the love from all of our friends and family during this time. Meals have been brought to our home every day from our Sunday School class and our Church family which has been a huge blessing. We can not wait to bring Lillian to Church and meet everyone. I hope to share with you more, but I must go for now.
